ABC-FEC Influences National Policies at 2025 LegCon

ABC Florida East Coast participated in ABC National’s 2025 Legislative Conference, held on June 24–25 in Washington, D.C. Our chapter’s leadership and Legislative Committee members traveled to the nation’s capital to represent South Florida’s merit shop contractors in a high-impact series of meetings and events. For the first time, our Young Professionals joined the delegation.

During the Jun 25th Hill Day, ABC-FEC delegates met with key lawmakers, including U.S. Senator Rick Scott, Representatives Jared Moskowitz, Brian Mast, Mike Haridopolos, and Maria Salazar’s team. Our Young Professionals also had the opportunity to meet with Rep. Burgess Owens, Chair of the Higher Education and Workforce Investment Subcommittee. Other members connected with influential voices, such as Deputy Secretary Keith Sonderling, from the U.S. Department of Labor. These conversations allowed us to directly advocate for policies that protect open competition, support small business contractors, and address the industry’s skilled labor challenges.

In total, nearly 500 members from across the country attended LegCon 2025. The event featured national leaders like U.S. Senator Tim Scott, from South Carolina, and Rep. Lloyd Smucker, from Pennsylvania, with top agenda items including tax relief, workforce development, and opposition to anti-competitive labor mandates.
