ABC FEC Names Jonathan Carter Assistant Director of Government and Political Affairs

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL. – Associated Builders and Contractors Florida East Coast (ABC-FEC) announced today that Jonathan Carter has been named Assistant Director of Government and Political Affairs, strengthening the chapter’s advocacy efforts on behalf of South Florida’s commercial construction industry.

In his new role, Carter will support ABC-FEC’s legislative, regulatory and political strategy, working closely with local and state officials, industry stakeholders and other partners to advance policies that promote workforce development, economic growth and free enterprise in construction.

Carter brings extensive experience in government affairs, legislative advocacy and public-sector operations. Most recently, he served as Chief of Staff to Palm Beach County Mayor Sara Baxter, where he advised on countywide policy initiatives, legislative strategy and intergovernmental affairs. His background also includes roles with the Florida House of Representatives and multiple political campaigns, as well as hands-on experience with infrastructure and right-of-way projects in the private sector.

Throughout his career, Carter has been actively involved in civic and community leadership, including serving as Chairman of the City of Boca Raton’s Community Advisory Panel, President of the Rotary Club of Downtown Boca Raton and a member of several regional government and business organizations.
