Peter Dyga (left), testifies at the at the Florida House Committee on Career and Workforce Education in Tallahassee.
ABC-FEC was well represented at the Florida House Committee on Career and Workforce Education, where President & CEO Peter Dyga provided crucial testimony on apprenticeship and workforce education. His remarks acknowledged the legislature’s ongoing efforts while offering a candid, in-depth look at the process and areas for improvement. Committee members showed strong engagement, with Representatives Allison Tant and Patt Maney actively seeking further discussions and Rep. Kim Kendall welcoming industry input on her Apprenticeship Bill.
Our involvement in this discussion underscores the organization’s commitment to shaping a skilled workforce and ensuring apprenticeship programs align with industry needs. Chair Berny Jacques facilitated this critical conversation, allowing ABC to frame the issue effectively. Moving forward, we will continue working with lawmakers to refine legislative efforts and provide members with the resources needed to advocate for impactful apprenticeship policies.
