December 3, 2025The FEC Legislative Committee held its final meeting of 2025 at Cooper’s Hawk Winery and Restaurant in Coconut Creek, closing out a year defined by meaningful advocacy and major wins, including the successful passage of state Bill 681. Chairman John Parker delivered a recap of the committee’s accomplishments and reaffirmed the group’s essential role in ABC-FEC’s leadership on legislative and regulatory issues, industry awareness, and candidate influence.
The evening also celebrated the members who went above and beyond throughout the year, followed by a toast welcoming Incoming Chairman Shawn Oden and Co-Chair Gus Arana as they prepare to lead the committee in 2026.
2025 Legislative Committee Honorees
► John Parker, Chairman of the 2025 Legislative Committee, was recognized for leadership, commitment, passion, advocacy for ABC-FEC’s Legislative Committee, and dedication to the Merit Shop Philosophy.
► Luis Carbonell, recognized for Best Attendance at the 2025 Monthly Legislative Committee Meetings.
► Brian Sudduth, Chair of the 2025 Florida East Coast Board, was recognized for Exceptional Leadership and for guiding a successful legislative year.
► Kip Reeves, awarded for Outstanding Young Professional Volunteer at the 2025 Legislative Committee Meetings.
► Hu Montague, awarded for Outstanding Support of ABC-FEC’s 2025 PAC Fundraising Efforts.
► Gus Arana, awarded for Outstanding Community Engagement and tied for Best Participation and Attendance at the 2025 Monthly Legislative Committee Meetings.
► Jorge Amador, recognized for Outstanding Service as the Newest Member of the 2025 Legislative Committee.
► Vince Cozzolino, awarded for Best Attendance and Contribution of Time at the 2025 Legislative Conferences.
