March 14, 2025ABC Florida East Coast (ABC-FEC) made a strong presence at the 2025 Legislative Conference in Tallahassee, with 26 members and four staff attending to advocate for the construction industry. Over two days, members engaged in more than 40 meetings with state legislators and officials, representing districts across Brevard, Indian River, Martin, St. Lucie, Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade counties.
Led by Chapter Chair Brian Sudduth and Legislative Committee Chair John Parker, ABC-FEC members met with state Senators, Representatives, and key agencies, including the Executive Office of the Governor and the Florida Department of Education. Discussions focused on critical legislative priorities, such as Statute of Repose reform (HB 6005/SB 586), apprenticeship program funding (HB 681/SB 1458), and construction regulations (HB 683/SB 712).
“Our participation ensures that lawmakers understand the challenges facing our industry and the policies needed to promote workforce development and business growth,” stated Parker.
