April 16, 2026Associated Builders and Contractors of Florida has formally endorsed Byron Donalds for governor, announcing its support during a stop on his “Defending the Florida Dream Tour” in Coconut Creek. The state’s largest commercial construction association pointed to Donalds’ emphasis on reducing regulatory burdens, expanding workforce training, and driving economic growth as key factors behind the decision. ABC leaders said his policy approach aligns closely with the needs of Florida’s construction sector, particularly at a time when workforce development and project efficiency remain top priorities across the industry.
Donalds welcomed the endorsement, reinforcing his commitment to policies aimed at strengthening the state’s building environment. “As Governor, I’ll fight to cut burdensome regulations, expand workforce training, and ensure our construction industry has the tools it needs,” he said. ABC officials added that Donalds “understands what it takes to keep Florida building toward the future.” The endorsement builds on a growing wave of support for the candidate, including backing from Donald Trump, Elon Musk, numerous Florida sheriffs, and Republican lawmakers, following a record-setting $22 million fundraising quarter for his campaign.
