ABC Florida East Coast recently kicked off another season of giving with its annual Christmas in July event, launching the 31st year of Handlebars for the Holidays, which provides bicycles, helmets, and locks to children in need throughout Brevard County. Hosted by Eau Gallie Electric in Melbourne, the event generated $20,000 in pledges on opening night, more than double last year’s kickoff total.
2026 marks the 13th year in which ABC-FEC has partnered with the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office on this initiative. The construction community comes together to help make the holidays brighter for local families. RUSH Construction also continues its longstanding support, with its seventh year of matching funds raised by employees.
The kickoff drew elected officials, community leaders, and ABC-FEC members, with significant support from Eau Gallie Electric, CEI, Milwaukee Tool, White Cap, and Mobile Modular Portable Storage. The funds raised will help put new bicycles into children’s hands this December.
