Elected Officials Visit ABC Florida East Coast

Karen Brill – Chair of the Palm Beach County School Board (District 3)

ABC Florida East Coast welcomed several elected officials to its offices for a series of meetings focused on workforce development, industry priorities, and the future of construction in South Florida. During the visits, officials met with ABC leadership, board members, and key committee representatives to discuss ongoing legislative and economic issues impacting the merit shop construction industry. The politicians also toured ABC Institute Apprenticeship College (ABCI), where they experienced firsthand the organization’s investment in training the next generation of skilled professionals through hands-on education and innovative workforce solutions.

Our distinguished visitors were:

► Karen Brill – Chair of the Palm Beach County School Board (District 3), Brill met with leadership to discuss strengthening the link between education and workforce pathways. Recently endorsed by ABC-FEC; term runs through November 2026.

► Marci Woodward – Palm Beach County Commissioner (District 4) and Vice Mayor, Woodward toured ABCI and highlighted the role of apprenticeships in creating direct paths to high-demand careers.

► Alex Rizo (R) – State Representative (District 112), Rizo visited the ABCI Hialeah campus and emphasized its impact on local workforce growth. He also serves on the 2026 Budget Conference Committee, supporting ABC FEC priorities.
