Michael Candes is associate general counsel at Hensel Phelps Construction Co., where he provides advice to the organization on contractual and legal matters. Prior to joining Hensel Phelps in 2022, he was a partner at Holland & Knight LLP, where he primarily represented general contractors, construction managers and manufacturers in private and government construction contract matters. His practice was national and concentrated on industrial, commercial and infrastructure projects.
Bryan Kelley is a vice president with Balfour Beatty Construction and chief legal officer for its Northwest Division. Before joining Balfour Beatty, Kelley was a partner at the construction law firm OIes Morrison Rinker & Baker LLP in Seattle. Kelley currently chairs the Associated General Contractors of America’s Contract Documents Forum.
Nora Degnan started in 2004 as a project estimator/project manager at Thorne Associates Inc., a large drywall, acoustic ceiling, plaster and carpentry specialty contractor in Chicago. Since then, she has become a vice president and part-owner. Degnan is involved on the board level of various local and national organizations, including Chicagoland Associated General Contractors, Chicago Building Congress, Midwest Wall and Ceilings Contractors and Mid-America Regional Bargaining Association.
Brian Perlberg is executive director of the ConsensusDocs Coalition and senior counsel at the Associated General Contractors of America. He serves on the ABA Forum on the Construction Law Steering Committee for the Contract Documents, the Executive Committee for the National Construction Dispute Resolution Committee of the Arbitration Association of America and the Advisory Board for Construction SuperConference Board.
