ABC Institute Apprenticeship College (ABCI) will celebrate the graduation of more than 120 apprentices across seven skilled trades on July 11 at the Charles F. Dodge City Center in Pembroke Pines. The ceremony will recognize the hard work, dedication, and achievement of graduates who have completed their apprenticeship training as highly skilled craft professionals. Honors will include the prestigious Ron Pearson Student of the Year Award.
More than a graduation ceremony, the event is a celebration of lives transformed through education and opportunity. Each graduate represents a success story for Florida’s construction industry, while the support of employer partners, instructors, families, and sponsors highlights the collaborative effort required to build the next generation of construction professionals.
Troy Selberg

The commencement speaker will be Troy Selberg, Director of Workforce Initiatives for the U. S. Department of Labor.
At the time of their academic ceremony, graduating students will have 6,000 to 8,000 hours of work experience/training. This is above what a traditional bachelor’s degree has, with the incentive of no student debt and the opportunity to earn an income as they learn.
Last year’s standing-room-only graduation honored 110 graduates during ABCI’s 50th anniversary year and reaffirmed the institute’s role as Florida’s leading expert in workforce development. With record enrollment, expanding programs, and a growing demand for skilled labor, Graduation 2026 offers a glimpse of the impact ABCI is poised to make in the year ahead.
