US Department of Labor’s Troy Selberg Delivers Commencement Address

ABCI recently celebrated the graduation of 140 apprentices from seven construction trades. The ceremony was held at the Charles F. Dodge City Center in Pembroke Pines. Troy Selberg, Director of Workforce Initiatives at the U.S. Department of Labor, delivered the commencement address and encouraged graduates to embrace the opportunities ahead as they enter one of the nation’s most in-demand industries.

Selberg’s remarks highlighted the critical role skilled trades professionals play in strengthening America’s workforce and economy. His message underscored the growing demand for construction talent and the value of apprenticeship as a pathway to rewarding, debt-free careers.

Also present at the ceremony were State Representative Tom Fabricio, from District 111, and Pam Weinberger, State Representative from District 94, and Coconut Creek’s Vice Mayor John Brodie.

The event was made possible by Milwaukee, MasTec, C. Davis Electric, Diligent, C&F Electric, William R. Nash, Thermal Concepts, D&B Tile Distributors, and Southeast Mechanical Contractors, who sponsored the event and helped make the celebration a success.
