ABC Institute’s inaugural Skilled Trades Hiring Fairs in Coconut Creek and Hialeah gave construction employers direct access to apprentices and skilled professionals prepared to enter or advance in the industry. With contractors continuing to face workforce shortages, ABC-FEC and ABCI are helping bridge the gap by recruiting and training talent and creating opportunities for employers to connect directly with potential hires.
The fairs brought together 12 employers and more than 50 job seekers, giving companies a focused pool of candidates with skilled trades training and an interest in construction careers. The strong response demonstrated the value of connecting workforce development directly with employers’ hiring needs. Following the success of these events, ABCI plans to hold additional hiring fairs in the future.
