ABC Opposes the Egregious Faster Labor Contracts Act
September 23, 2025On September 10, 2025, ABC Institute (ABCI) proudly unveiled its new flagship campus in Hialeah, joined by distinguished state and local leaders who honored the organization’s impact on Florida’s workforce. The event underscored ABCI’s central role in preparing the next generation of construction professionals and advancing merit shop principles across the region.
Proclamations and tributes poured in from respected elected officials. The City of Hialeah officially proclaimed the day as ABC Institute Day. Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, alongside Commissioners René Garcia and Anthony Rodriguez, congratulated ABCI on the grand opening. State Representative Tom Fabricio commended ABCI as the largest provider of apprenticeship education in Florida. Finally, Representative David Borrero presented proclamations recognizing Peter Dyga, President & CEO, and Sonny Maken, COO, for their leadership and vision.
These honors highlight the breadth of support for ABCI’s mission. With programs in seven trades and nearly 1,000 apprentices enrolled, the Institute’s influence extends statewide while remaining rooted in local communities.
For ABC Florida East Coast and ABCI, these recognitions reaffirm a proud truth: our workforce development and placement efforts are shaping Florida’s construction future, one apprentice at a time.
